What I mean by "Socialism".

We as Americans are too proud to call ourselves a socialist country, that’s something we save for communist countries or Democratic Socialist Governments like England or Canada or Australia that run very high tax rates. All that aside there are three main attributes that I have associated with socialism:
High tax rates,
The redistribution of wealth,
And the axiom: "To each, according to his needs, from each, according to his abilities,."

The Redistribution of Wealth,

Financing for that which the Government defines as "human resources" has exceeded one trillion dollars per year. One trillion dollars. Is it just me or is anyone else staggered by that amount.

About 70 percent in what the government pays out each year is for social programs. That’s a lot of wealth to be distributed, a lot of wealth to take from the tax payers, each year.

The Socialist Axiom

The welfare system as a whole covers the first half
of the axiom.

To each, according to his needs.

The Democratic parties continuous call to increase the tax on the wealthier people in this country covers the second half of the axiom.

Tax Rates:

As I said before we commonly consider countries like England as socialist because they run a very high tax rate. But consider what our own tax rates would be if we paid up front for Government spending, instead of running up a staggering debt as we have, maybe about 50%, or so.
