In America today, one can barely publish a conservative opinion without being called a Fascist. Since I have stated my conservative opinions I have, on occasion, been tagged as a Fascist. And every time that happens, I find myself somewhat confused.
Now, I know that a more formal name for Fascism, is “National Socialism”, and I am not any form of Socialist, so I get confused.
Politically I place myself pretty far to the Right, but that’s only because I wish to be as far away from Socialism as I can get.
I admit, it is common knowledge that Fascism is positioned on the Political Far Right. However, in no way whatsoever do I consider myself a Fascist.
So my question is, just who says Fascism is on the Far Right?
So I did a little study and quickly got the answer to my question.
This report will point out the simple fact that where Fascism may be Right of Socialism, it can not be considered Right of Center, in other words, Fascism is a variation of the Political Left.
FIRST POINT:
Nobody, Left or Right, is going to claim Fascism. This is because of Adolf Hitler. Nobody wants to align themselves, or seem to be aligned with the terrible genocide of World War Two. This is certainly a perfectly understandable attitude.
However, it’s a funny thing. From my own experience, when I engage somebody on the Left about Hitler, they are quick to condemn his Genocide, and yet, they are just as quick to praise his efforts to rebuild Germany during the great depression.
It’s a question in my mind. Why the Left would praise the policies of the Far Right?
The obvious answer would be, they are not praising the policies of the Far Right.
SECOND POINT:
The Political Left/Right Scale is a variable, those variations depend not only on place, but also in time. Fascism blossomed in 1920’s Italy. Perhaps in that time and place there were only two factions: Socialism, and National Socialism. If true, then one would be on the Left, and the other on the Right. However, that type of scale does not apply in 2005’s America.
Just to be clear there were other political factions in 1920’s Italy, but we will get to that later.
THIRD POINT:
Why is it that all of the Mega Mass Murdering Dictators of the past century have the word Socialist in their resume?
FOURTH POINT:
Why are there so many major historical similarities between Socialism, and Fascism?
Point Five:
Who first said Fascism was on the Far Right?
That would be Italian Dictator Benito Mussolini, in the 1919 Italian elections Mussolini and the Fascist party ran on the Left, and lost. Then for the next time around, The entire Fascist party has a change of heart, and Mussolini came out and Declared that Fascism is on the Far Right, and that label has lasted to this day.
Of course the Left expects us to believe Mussolini! Despite their visceral and utter loathing for the man.
Point Six:
Some Historical Context:
Why the term “National Socialism”? In the beginning Socialism, as envisioned by Robert Owens, was neither National nor International.
However, Socialism, as created by Karl Marx, and Friedrich Engels, was an International political philosophy.
The Governing Body for this version of Socialism was Called “The International” and Marx, Engles, and Lenin (and others) were members of this body. However, after two attempts to make “The International” a functional body, it floundered, and was considered by many people of the time to be a bust. And a split among socialist was created.
This was especially due to World War One, when the average Socialist, who according to Marx’s axiom “had no country,” answered their Nation’s call and went to war. (against Socialist on the other side who had answered their nation’s call).
Thus, in most countries in Europe of that time, groups of Socialists who retained their nationalism began to grow, hence the term “National Socialism”.
It’s hard to imagine why a Frenchman wanting to be French, or a Italian wanting to be Italian would be so sinister. Perhaps Nationalism is not the problem here; maybe the problem is in the Socialism part of “National Socialism”.
The above mentioned “International” is another link to Fascism. A sitting member of The First International was Alessandro Mussolini, father of Italian Dictator Benito Mussolini.
Benito Mussolini was born into Socialism. He was educated in Socialism, and never in his life denounced Socialism, and With Adolf Hitler’s Help, his last job was to lead the Italian Socialist Republic.
What he did was to simply reject the international aspect of Socialism of that time, nothing more. For that he got booted out of the Socialist Party in Italy. From there he joined another leftist party, the “Fascio Autonomo d’Azione Rivolzionaria”. He went on to define the Fascist Party. People in other countries in Europe would embrace it and call it “National Socialism”.
Benito Mussolini, The man, who to a high degree created Fascism, was a self proclaimed Socialist his entire life, so his claim that Fascism is a philosophy of the Far Right just does not make sense.
His Claim of Fascism being on the Far Right was just political bullsh!# in order to get elected.
The other famous Fascist Adolf Hitler, on the other hand, had no known history in Socialism - or did he?
In May, 1919 the German Army entered Munich and overthrew the Bavarian Socialist Republic. Among others, Adolph Hitler was arrested and was accused of being a Socialist. He denied it and was able to convince the army by offering to rat on the other solders.
Looking back on it we should of course believe his denial because of the honest person we know him to be. (sarcasm)
The German Army began using Hitler as a spy. In September 1919, he was instructed to attend a meeting of the German Worker's Party (GWP). The army feared that this new party, led by Anton Drexler, might be advocating communist revolution.
The GWP was only a few months old. What could Drexler have been saying to so quickly give the army that impression?
Drexler had gone from one Leftist political party to another, finally helping to form the GWP.
Hitler discovered that the party's political ideas were similar to his own. He approved of Drexler's German nationalism and anti-Semitism. Hitler joined the GWP, and pushed to have the phrase “National Socialist” added to the party name.
So the GWP became the National Socialist German Workers Party, more commonly called The “Nazi Party”.
Anton Drexler and Adolph Hitler pinned the party platform in 1920, including such elements as:
Correct me if I’m wrong, but this list sounds like Socialist doctrine to me.
And as we all know Adolf Hitler came to dominate the Nazi Party, and eventually all of Germany.
Was Hitler A International Socialist? No he was not.
Was Hitler A Communist? No he was not.
Was Hitler a Marxist? No he was not, but in Mein Kampf, he did rail against “scatterbrains” who “have not understood the difference between socialism and Marxism”.
Despite Hitler’s loathing for Marx who was Jewish, he was also quoted as saying, “I have learned a great deal from Marxism as I do not hesitate to admit…”.
What Adolf Hitler was, was A National Socialist, and he did embrace Socialism in that form, and, as this report has detailed, adopted many of Socialism’s traits.
Are there differences between Socialism/Communism, and National Socialism? Yes, there are. However, those differences were not enough to prevent the extermination of millions of people under Hitler’s Fascist (National Socialist) Germany.
NOW LETS TALK ABOUT CONTEMPORARY AMERICAN POLITICS:
If Socialism dominates the political Left, (as it has for a hundred years), then the political Right would be it’s polar opposite, would it not? It would be something that is not Socialism at all.
Fascism simply does not meet that requirement.
Fascism’s bloody history, and it’s many similarities with Socialism, and Socialism's bloody History, place it firmly on the Left.
Certainly Fascism is to the Right of Socialism, but Right of Center? Not a chance!
JOHN KERRY:
During the 2004 American presidential election, Democratic candidate John Kerry casually refers to himself as an internationalist.
You could have knocked me over with a feather.
The term “No Sh!# Sherlock!” comes to mind.
What else could he say? He’s a classic American liberal, so his politics are rooted somewhere in Socialism. What’s he going to do, come out and claim he’s a nationalist? That would equate to Kerry calling himself a Fascist.
John Kerry simply can not be anything other than an internationalist.
So, had Kerry been President on September 11 2001. His responses to the terrorist attacks would have to be approved by the rest of the leftist world, (mostly Europe).
There would be no options for Kerry to act strictly for America’s interest; to do so would appear to be Nationalistic. ( a Socialist, who’s Nationalistic, you know what that means.)
This is also true of every Democratic President of the past thirty years: Jimmy Carter, Bill Clinton, and whichever Democrat might get herself elected in the future. And this will be so for some time to come.
THE LEFT AT WAR:
The American Left is almost rabid in it’s disapproval of the war in Iraq.
This is because they are anti war, right? Wrong!
The Left’s Icon Karl Marx writes that, “war is necessary to prepare the people for political domination”.
The Left is not anti war, this is evident by their easy acceptance to the war in Kosovo.
The European Left wanted America to go into Kosovo, so they wouldn’t have to do it.
When the European Left wants to go to war, they will fight to the last American Soldier.
The European Left’s desire for that war made it an International endeavor, and therefore, Then President Bill Clinton could act. In fact he really had no choice. If he wanted to, or if he didn’t want to, Bill Clinton was sending America to war.
Bill Clinton also has to be an Internationalist; he simply could not refuse the European Internationalists. Again, to do so might seem Nationalistic.
However, the war in Iraq is a different story, George W. Bush was the President on 9./11/2001. Bush acted without the International Left’s concurrence. Therefore;
In the eyes of the Left, the war in Iraq is a Fascist operation.
In the eyes of the Left, George W. Bush has acted as a nationalist.
With that, the Left’s irrational hatred for Georgia W. Bush is assured.
This hatred is quite openly expressed in all American Leftist politicians and the Left’s media outlets.
Considering the common history of Fascism, and Socialism, this attitude can only be described as “Grievous Hypocrisy”, or at the very least “Self Deception”.
CONCLUSION:
When you consider Socialism’s incredibly bloody history of the last century, do you really think that the Left actually cares about American deaths in Iraq?
Historically, Socialists care about nothing except Socialism.
This is true with Socialism as defined by Robert Owens.
This is true with International Socialism as defined by Marx and Engles.
And this is true with National Socialism as defined by Adolf Hitler and Benito Mussolini.
The American left’s favorite relative, Uncle Joe Stalin said it best: “The death of one man is a tragedy, a million is a statistic”.
Actually, when I consider Socialism’s incredibly bloody history, I wonder why anybody would be a Socialist.
It just goes to demonstrate that the Human mind’s ability to shut out reality, is limitless.
